D.C. Councilmember Elissa Silverman has been ordered to repay greater than $6,000 after the D.C. Board of Elections upheld a ruling Friday by the D.C. Workplace of Marketing campaign Finance.
The ruling acknowledged that Silverman, an At-Massive councilmember, violated marketing campaign finance legal guidelines through the use of taxpayer-funded calling funds to conduct a ballot concerning the Ward 3 Democratic major.
Silverman had appealed the Workplace of Marketing campaign Finance’s ruling on due course of issues. However the D.C. Board of Elections upheld the ruling Friday, saying it was honest.
In a press release final week, Silverman insisted she did nothing fallacious, writing partly, “I consider that the polling for a citywide candidate was inside the Honest Elections laws, and I’ll be asking for a full listening to with the board on the matter.”
Silverman went on to name the allegations towards her baseless.
She is in search of her third time period as an Unbiased At-Massive council member.
